Some people don't learn from their mistakes

العربية نت - واشنطن تبحث تقديم مساعدات عسكرية لمصر بقيمة 13 مليار دولار

The news in Arabic says that Washington is thinking in giving a military aid to Egypt that is equal to 13 billion dollar in next 5 years in order to create an Arab force that can counter the Iranian force

The United States want to create an Arab force from Egypt and the Gulf against the axis of evil twin Syria and Iran , strangely I don't know why they include Syria , with my all respect the Syrian army is well known to be not as powerful as the Iranian , may be they are considering the fighting spirit of the dear Syrians and this is something we can not deny that the Syrians are one hell of fighters and warriors

Anyhow I believe that history repeats itself , you know the song history repeating , it is the same thing , I feel that we are again in the 1950s and 1960s but our role as Egypt, the official state is changed

The United Kingdom in the mid of the 1950s wanted to cut the growing influence of the Pan Arabism in the region and thus it made something called "The Baghdad Alliance" better known in English as "The Baghdad Pact" which included the friends of UK in the region or the friends of the west : Turkey,Iran,Iraq and Pakistan

This pact of course reminds us with the New middle east in which also Pakistan the country that is somehow faraway from the middle east is included in it , in fact the Baghdad Pact I believe was the first nucleus of the new middle east , of course it did not work despite the hopes of the UK and the United States also

This Alliance Egypt refused to join and joined instead the Non-Aligned movement as a smart move from Nasser and his foreign minister Mahmoud Fawzy ,the fox of the Egyptian foreign ministry

The Baghdad pact failed and became part of history but the idea continued especially when the United States took the lead and especially when Egypt became on the wrong side from their point view , we first made an union with Syria , the union that did not stay too long , still the idea was scary

The Pan-Arabism was invading the Arab world and the soviet were winning now allies and Israel was under the the threat of Nasser's statements ,in fact they needed some counter power against the Egyptian Pharaoh and there was no better than the Xerxes of Iran aka the Shah of Iran and his Empire

Reza Palhavi hated Nasser for different reasons ,first of all Nasser supported Mosdaq , he even called one of the Dokki's public square by his name , second in the 1960s Nasser supported group of Iranian nationalist to rebel against the Shah ,in fact he invited them to stay in Cairo but the thing did not work ,as Nasser forgot they were nationalists who believed that the Gulf should be called Persian Gulf not the Arabian Gulf !!

Anyhow America provided the Shah with a whole Arsenal like no other to counter the soviet support to Egypt and Syria ,not to mention the Nuclear reactors they built to the Shah , strangely Egypt stopped its nuclear project in time of President Nasser ,I don't know why ;after all these billions giving to the Shah the Islamic revolution took it after they had removed him and considered America as the greatest Satan it must fight

Now the American administration is repeating the same  move giving Egypt huge military aid to confront Iran , history repeating , the idea is that I don't know what is the use if they don't consider a military enemy to us , Egyptians will refuse to go war against Iran on behalf of anyone and in the same way Iran does not want to attack Egypt or it does consider as an enemy more than an American ally

In the end let the American administration wish as they want  and let them give us 13 billion as a military aid to enforce our army , we won't say no , let our army be the strongest ,in the end we are not going actually to do the dirty business of others , we are not like the Pakistani army for sure

We have a duty Zeinoia to save our culture, our region and our brothers fom Iraq.

By the way, Iranian army is piece of paper compared to Egypt.I check many profesional sites like Jane's defence, London Straegic centre..etc Iran is an inflated ballon.

Their combat experience is zero compared to Egypt who went to 6 wars in 25 years against the mos powerful war machine in the world.

Their air force is obsolete junk.
Their tanks are mainly T55 and T54.

According to "Anthony Cordesman" the expert on middle easter military in the Washington strategic centre, Egypt has first rate strategic and operational planners. It was the Egyptians that planned the successful El-fao attack to liberate it from the Iranian occupatioon.

When it comes to missiles, most of their missiles and technology are transferred from North Korea. Egypt according to all reports, posseses an indigenous capabilty to produce all sorts of misiles. It does possss scud b and c technologies as well the Nodong missiles. North Korea owes Egypt its entire missile technology, as Egypt supplied it with Scud B in the seventies.

As for chemical weapons: well, check that link by the American CIA, it says that Egyptian expertise and scientists slew Iranians with chemical weapons during the Iraq-Iran war.

  3. I swear that I know that you were the first one to answer
Amre to speak seriously may be you live abroad and do not how things are in Egypt
first of all people have enough and they are not willing to send their sons to die for big concepts like culture , they refuse to go to war against Iran , they would go against Israel but not Iran because they got sick from war , they got tired , if anyone wants to go to war he will go on himself

strangely now are with the United States despite if you read what I wrote you will find that the States supported Iran agaisnt the Arabs what makes you assure that it won't do the same !!??

about the Iranian power and so on , I won't go for these reports or the CIA comic report

Another thing I don't think our brothers in Iraq need our help militarily in the way to send our kids to die , I don't think their weak , hell no there are powerful enough

let the Egyptian army alarmed for its other dangers

  4. I'm so sorry Amre with all due respect my friend this statement:

"We have a duty Zeinoia to save our culture, our region and our brothers fom Iraq."

Reeks to the highest heaven of fascism. Howa mish match corra Shiaa and Sunna. The west is playing on our visceral emotions ....Can't you see it Amre "duty" requires us to keep the peace in the whole region thats how stability takes birth. Not by pinning ALAWAI and SHIAA against Sunna !!!!!!!!!

Think about what you are saying an Iran the army that had Saddam in an eight year quagmire against egypt who hasn't shot a bullet since '73????? But why should we fight in the fist place? I'm recommending a movie for you called why we fight I think you should see it. Its an impeccable documentary

  5. "We have a duty Zeinoia to save our culture, our region and our brothers fom Iraq."

I want to comment on another point , our Culture in the Arab world especially in Egypt is no way now under a persian threat , no way , in fact our culture is threatened by the globalization ,the western American culture
in fact even Iran itself the young generations are living the same dilemma , Amre all the Nationalist identities in the world are threatened by the globalization to lose its unique characters now
Zerocool is right our role is to keep the balance
the United States I remember it was said last year that the States promised Mubarak big promises if he sends troops to Iraq , the man did not accept the deal because he knows that the people won't accept at all and it can cost him his chair and thus he refused
Amre we are not ready to repeat the Yemen
Another ya Amre ,America doesn't want us to go to war against the Iran for the Sake of our culture , hell now they hate our culture , it is only for the Sake of Israel to secure Israel

  6. Dear Zerocool,

I'm a very secular percon, and I have nothing against shiites. The conflict in Iraq is between Iarnain elemnts who had been expelled from Iraq in seventies for Persian lineage and sympathy.

They came back with the occupation- the Iranian supeme council of islamic revolution, Iranian intelligence lements and revolutionary guards, El- Badr militants....etc all together form the horrible death squads who are ethnically cleansing not juat Sunnis but ANTI-IRAN ARAB SHIITES AS WELL.

Iran is taking over Iraq especially in the south where governmental forums are in pesian and people use Persian currency. Iranian settlers are coming in to replace the dispaced Arabs who arebeing drilled and acidified by Iranians.

please check the following link to learn what the Iranians are doing to the shiites of Arab origin.

    http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/HF22Ak04.html.

Dear zerocol, what is going on in Iraq is a onlict between two cultures: Arab and Iranian.

And that entails a direct threat to egypt's national security. For, having Iraq out of the Arab-Israeli equation entails a major shift infavour of ISAEL IN THE MIDDLE EASTERN BALANCE OF POWERS.

For Egypt it includes a reduction in its sphere of political and cultural influence.

AS FOR THE COMPARISON BETWEEN IRAN AND EGYPT, WLL, YOU MAKE ME LAUGH.

THE MUCH SMALLER INEXPERIENCED IRAQ LITERALLY ALMOST WIPED IRAN OFF THE MAP.

Egypt hasn't lost its experience- in all armies there devices that are responsible for experience transfer.

Also, if you check the links I provided in my previous comment you will find out about the huge technological differnce in favour of Egypt.

Just remeber that egyptian missiles and strategic planning in the most brutalbattle in the Iraq-Iran war " El-Fao" battle resulted in shatering Irani defeat and the slaying of 70,000 Iranians on the batle field

I also suggest that you do some research about Egyptian and Iranianmiltary potentials.

Because I have that- and it is quiet obvious that Egypt can crush Iran like a bug in no time

    ReplyDelete
  7. I am sorry Amr again we will start our ill debate about Iran,Iraq and Egypt , you said it yourself removing Iraq from the map is in the favor of Israel, so is Iran , you do not visit Israeli news sites do you ??
I won't go to what is happening in Iraq because I got sick of it , but I tell you what I know I refuse to declare on other country because this will weak my army and exhauste it for the sake of Israel , which will hit two birds with one stone
I won't speak about the army capabilities because I know very well I can rely on internet sources what ever it was while I am setting on my butt , this is an ABC , powerful armies don't publish its secerts on the internet but I tell you something they developed the Shahabs , not to mention the nuclear power , you forget this point , plus my dear friends if we are going to speak from the strategic point of view ,if America is supporting you , Russia and China are supporting Iran , da da da da boom

anyhow Amr dream like you want but we won't go Mubarak nor his son are fool enough to engage in a war to send our kids to die for no good freaking reasons especially "culture"

  8. Zeinobia:

Israel doesn't view Iran as a threat. IRAN AND iSRAEL HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ALLIES IN ALL THE ARAB ISRALI WARS. The Irani people themselves dont VIEWEW ISRAEL AS A THREAT, and oppose the anti-Israeli childish propaganda of their retarded government. and quiet rightly so.

Dear Zeinobia, there are no cultural or fundamental differences between Israel and Iran.

Of course the U.S doesn want us to fight Iran for the sake of our culture, however we have to be smart and play the game right.

Iran allied itself with the U.S IN 2003, AND MADE USE OF THE OCCUPATION TO ETHNICALLY CLEANSE ARABS ( SUNIIS AND SHIITES) in order to bring Iraq under its influence.

Now we have the chance to reduce Iran to its natural seize. In the meantime we have to be cautious about the American motivations

I assure you that de-Arabising Iraq is an extremely serious threat to Egyptian natinal security in terms of strategic balance with Israel. It enatails a massive reduction in Egyptian strategic weight with the rise of non-Arabs in the middle east Israel, Iran and even Ethiopi in the African horn

you see, Israel bombed the Iraqi nuclear reactor very early in 1981, assassinated Egyptian scientists. But when it comes to Iran no action is taken. They simply don't view Iran as strategic enemy. at the tactical level they are enemies- but that is only temporary.

IRAN'S CLIENT- HISBOLLAH- ATTACKED ISRAEL JUST AT THE TIME IRANI ETHNIC CLEANSING IN IRAQ HAS REACHED ITS PEAK. It is clear that IRAN IS PALYING HAMAS AND HISBOLLAH TO GET AWAY WITH ITS NUCLEAR PROBLEMS AND DIVERT ATTENTION OF ARAB STRET FROM ITS CRIMES IN IRAQ

If all the Irani Nuclear fuss was in an Arab country, it would have been already bombed to the ground by now.

I assure that Egyptians will be happy to see persians crushed and taught some manners.

DONT FORGET THAT WE FAUGHT IRAQ AN ARAB LIKE US, WHEN IT INVADED KUWAIT.

NOW WE HAVE A NOBLE CAUSE, AND THE ENEMY IS FOREIGN NON aRAB AGGRESSIVE COUNTRY. IRAN, WHICH IS WIPING OUT THE ARAB IDENTITY OF IRAQ- KILLING, DISPLACING AND DRILLING THE HEADS OF MILLIONS (INCLUDING SHIITES)

    PLEASE CHECK THE FOLOWING LINK:

  9. What shehabs Zeinobia?

they are North Korean missiles. In Egypt we have better missile capbilties, although it is not fully actualised. Shehab is used to compensate for the Iranian extremely weak air and armoured forces.Besides they are only used asstrategic deterance i case of chemical or nuclear attack.

If they dare to use them in a combat the Iran will be brought to the ground.

As, for jane's defence and other strategic centers, well, those reports are highly reliable and used by intelligence, politicians and academics

Of course not everything about the army is on the internet- however those reports merely serve as an indication o the military capabilities of different nations.

we have stronger military relations with China who need us to set a a foothold in Africa.

Also Saudi Arabia, promised to supply china with oil, in order to make up for any shortage of Irani supplies

  10. Zeinobia: You pointed to the right threat; Globalization. To achieve that a) create conflicts/wars in the name of religions to dilute religious values; b) weaken family structure through expansion of feminism and redefinition of marriage to accomodate homosexuals. When all is accomplished global power would be the obvious solution

    ReplyDelete
  11. ok I'm not going back and forth with this. But I'm glad I make you laugh amre laughing is a good thing in life.

But even with the US helping sadam he couldn't defeat Iran please to pass revisionist history on somthing that a fact.

and it's sad that this so called 13 billion dollar endowment is mostly in military aid toys that poor egypt has to procure from the likes of lockhead martin instead of agriculture inovations and machines that would feed our poor. And even jimmy and hosney know that they won't play with all the toys that the US is giving away because hosney has kept and will keep egypt out of war THE ONLY GOOD THING OUR LIVING PHAROH HAS DONE.

  12. Dear Zeinobia, Iran and Israel are not enemies at the strategic level. In all the Arab israeli wars Iran and Israel have been allies.

Israel bombed Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981 and assassinated Egyptian scientists. I assure that id the fuss about Iran was about an Arab country, it would have already been bombed by now.

As a tactical manoveur Iran is using the childish anti- israel fake rhetoric to distract attention of the Arab world from its genocidal and criminal policies in Iraq.

De-arabising Iraq is major threat to Egyptian nationl security. For it includes a dratic reduction in Egypt' strategic weight and sphere of influence, in favour of non Arab elemnts in the middle east i.e Israel. Iran and even Ethiopia in the horn of Africa.

Iran declared Bahrain an Iranian teritory, it is threateng and ocupying parts of the UAE. The incraesionfg influence of Iran in the gulf involves a major threat to Egyptian interets- for the gulf is rising and promisng market for egyptian huge laboutr force and goods. Iran is desparate to ttk over that area. Most Iranians I have met become very envious when they know that Egyptians work in the gulf

It was not a coincidense that the Iranainan agent HASAN NASARALLAH ATTACKED iSRAEL JUST AT THE TIME WERE THE iRANI DEATH SQUADS REACHED A MAXIMUM IN THEIR CRIMES (DRILLING PEOPLE HEADS AND ACIDIFYING THEM)

At the strategic level, Iran and Istrael share a common intyerets:

    1) diluting Arab identity of Iraq, to make sure that its out of the Arab-Israeli equation while in the mantime the solid barrier that prevented that blocke he Iranian expansion in the region is erased.

Dear Zeinobia, Iran allied with the U.S in 2003 to invade iraq and faciltate the settlement of millions of Persians in Iraq.

Now we have a chance to restore the stratyegic balance in the region.

But in the mean time we have to be cautious of the Americans- which means we go alone with them , only as fa as our interets dictate

  13. @anonymous , the globalization is much worse than military invasion

@Zerocool , well Amr believed that Iran was defeat in the Iraq-Iran war , despite it was the opposite , he just does not understand what is the fighting spirit of the Iranians , the Americans understand very well
Zerocool you will be surprised to find that those 13 billions won't be aircrafts or state of the Art weapons no way America will make you on the same standard like Israel
the American administration dear doesn't want to have better agriculture because then you will be able to have more wheat and thus you won't need their help , how do you think Toshka was turned in to a big failure !!

@Amr , again you are using vague words I am afraid, you speak about Nasrallah in ill terms as you like but as I said you don't read what is written in the Israeli press nor you read what is written in Egypt , strangely Saad El-Shazely your hero respects Nasrallah
look Amr don't put so hopes again that we are going to fight Iran and let our kids die for some vague concepts like saving the Arabic culture , end of the attack
the gulf men can do it , the Iraqi men can do it
damn it , you don't read what is happening in Egypt ,we are in our worst condition and you want us to fight against the de-arabization of Iraq ,People can't find clean water now for God Sake

  14. Iran lost the war Zeinobia that is a simple fact.

Ayatollah Khomeini asked for seize fire while huge areas of Iran was occupied by the gallant Iraqis. He literally said that "Iraqis have forced him to sip poison"

The road was open to Tehran- but Sadam ordered his generals to stop.

According to objetive independent sources, by the end of 1988, the entire Irani armoured forces disintgrated. Iran was left only with infantry.

ABOUT THE IRANIAN BRAVERY HEEEEEEEEE you make me laugh. Zeinobia, Khomeini used to bring 17 and 18 years old boys and promise them heaven if they launch suicidal attacks. So you call this bravery? Do you.

The outcome of the war was the occupation f parts of Iran the emergence of Iraq the dominat power in the gulf. And we no longer heared about the Irani fanatic slogans of exporting the revoultion. And not a single persian dared to open his mouth about ambitions in the gulf. And their presence in the Arab world disappeared.

  16. I'm with Zeinobia...by the way..i really enjoy reading ur blogs...I live in the West but I spent a big chunk of last year in Egypt..in the cities and the countryside.. and I can honestly say that the level of poverty I saw from 1988 to 2006 had increased dramatically.Egyptians need clean drinkable water, decent health care, housing, jobs, better education system..the list goes on...I'll be honest I didn't know what it was like to go without water until the water was cut at the place I was staying at. U can manage, although not long, without electricity but water..water is life...over 250,000 Egyptians are presently without clean drinkable water...and i agree..no Egyptian I met or spoke with wants 2 go 2 war...the 1 positive thing about the establishment most said, was that they had prevented Egyptians from going 2 war..war 4 palestinians, kuwaitis, iraqis..Who can blame them...Unless Egypt is directly attacked I don't see Egyptians picking up arms and fighting the good fight! Egyptians may speak Arabic but if you read the signs on a large amount of the stores and boutiques, you find they are written in Arabic but are English words..so Arab culture has a greater struggle against the anglo western culture, globalization western values...I watched a program from France which discussed the very same issue...How French culture and language was under attack from anglo western North American influences...so Amre wake up and smell the coffee!

  17. @N.American princess, you are right in the last 25 years the poverty in Egypt increased in a scary rate , you will be surprised with the depressing news we hear everyday , we can't afford going to war for someone else I am sorry, the only reason we will go to war is when we are attacked this is what logic says

@Amr ,I am sorry that I rejected your comment but again I feel that you will attack my visitors , I am sorry Amr but N.American princess seems to know Egypt now more than you are , you seemed to be isolated from the current economic, political and social problems in EGypt seriously in fact when is the last time you commented on the internal stuff I write about Egypt ?? in fact do you read them ??
Egypt on the break , you speak of going to war as if we are going to picnic with complete assurance of victory
man please stop this Iranianphobia and look what is happening to Egypt and Egyptians for God Sake
and please do me a favor and read the posts about Egypt may be you will understand what we are dealing with

2nd: Amre: I was going to write a serious reply to your comments but then I read them all and I have to say... you make no sense what so ever...and let's just leave it at that and frankly I can't stand to ready any more of your comments...

The funny part (if there is any) is that Iran was a working secular democracy before the USA helped overthrow the government and installed the Shah who was more friendly to their cause! I am sure they regret it now :D

  23. oh doctor Ramy it is good to say again ya Abu Carol
about the military aid I know that since Camp David we are having part of the American aid as a military aid but this time the new aid is given for specific reason that is to stand against Iran ,to create a front

about Iran well I said to Amr this fact before and as usual he does not listen

by the way this is what I wanted to say America was too confident that whether the Shah or the IR would be in its side , they did not expect that the friends of today will be the foe of tomorrow
