Homeland security bans “Jews of #Egypt ”

Do You remember that documentary “Jews of Egypt” ??
This ambitious interesting documentary was going to be the second Egyptian documentary to be screened commercially in Egyptian selected cinemas. Its official release was supposed to be tonight but just as we are waiting for its release we found out that it was banned.
Yes it was banned from screening in Egypt officially despite it was approved by the Censorship bureau following the ministry of Culture. The film was banned by the Homeland Security previously known as State security.
The documentary film maker Amir Ramsis spoke about the matter on his Facebook page.

The film’s producer Haitham Khamis also showed the approvals of the Censorship bureau on his Facebook page as well.
Here is the documentary’s English trailer.

I think Ramsis should air the documentary on TV channels for free , let the whole world watches it.
By the way ironically at the same time we found out that the Muslim brotherhood got a film production company called “Cinema Al Nahda” and it is going to screen its first production ever “The Report” { a social drama} in the Arts academy !! The Arts academy is owned by the State.

    1. He should have chopped his rotten head of for what these bastard Israelis did to Egyptian pregnant women in Sinai!

    2. Jason, prolly some Egyptians did something to pregnant Egyptian women, in the normal way that Egyptian men treat women, and then blamed the Jews. Which is also normal behavior, for Egyptians. Life is so much simpler when you just blame the Jews or their American underlings for everything bad that happens. You should try it some time.

    1. Is this a justification? Should I hold Muslims in France responsible for Qaddafi? or Christians in Lebanon responsible of Pinochet?

When will people learn that hatred of an entire group is not a legitimate or effective tool of resistance?

And to the person who said that Jews are silent about zionism, then you clearly must be deaf.

  4. Jews are hated because they are silent about zionism and zionist atrocities and dont forget Zenobia it was Jews who marched into Sinai and murdered your Egyptian relatives.

    1. Actually you will be surprised to know that some IDF soldiers from Egyptian Jews helped Egyptian POWs to escape the massacres.

    2. Well, the Egyptian army along with 6 more Arab armies rushed to Palestine in 1947 to literally exterminate the Jews there ("throw them to the sea", as the Arab league chairman at that time stated), and I can go on with the list. You can hardly say this kind of behavior makes good neighbors.

The question is, should we look into the future, or into the past? Look at Europe, where the atrocities done in WWII cannot be matched by any war ever. The Israeli-Arab wars are kid's play compared to WWII, and still they are friendly to each other now. I guess this cannot happen in the Middle-East, but who knows?

    3. The cairo pogrom was in 1945. There was no Israel in 1945.

    4. "It was Jews who marched into Sinai" -

Let me quote President Nasser of Egypt, November 18, 1965 :

"Our aim is the full restoration of the rights of the Palestinian people. In other words, we aim at the destruction of the State of Israel. The immediate aim: perfection of Arab military might. The national aim: the eradication of Israel."

  5. Not all jews are zionists. There is a difference. This is the point that the film was trying to make.

    1. Not all Egyptians are Muslims. There is a difference. Isn't there? Isn't it true that non-Muslim Egyptians don't deserve to be blamed for what Egyptian Muslims do? Only Egyptian Muslims should be condemned for the bestial behavior of Egyptians?

  6. What difference does it make? A documentary isn't going to undo generations of brainwashing. All it will do is get the documentary maker killed.

  7. Once again, when Egypt faces a crisis, "let's blame the Jews" is the solution.

  9. Thanks for posting the short clip with subtitled in English to read.

I'm sorry for the Jewish people who lost their homes because of such hatred, but I'm equally sorry today for the Palestinians who likewise, today lose their homes by illegal settlements.

Thanks again Zee for an informative post.

  10. They probably expected Salafists to bomb the cinemas. A real possibility with those headcases. So maybe this time the MB made the right call.

  11. It is about time that Egyptians of all stripes realize that there is so much hate in Egypt and the groups targeted are the Jews and the Copts and the Shi3a and the Sufis and the gays and the Baha'ees and the liberals and the poor and that there is so much misogyny and the old nasty anti-women: Ina kaydahuna 3azeem

    So who is really left?

The only ones in Egypt that have it really good are upper class Sunni Muslim men and an added bonus if they happen to be ikhwangiyya and that is it and is this what this revolution was all about?
